Do you have a sump pump in your home?
Do you have the new type that checks itself every hour or so?
There's this new company that offers computer and phone monitoring of your sump pump 24/7
If you live in a flooding zone, it is an investment worth making.

We don't. We don't live in a flood zone though- I should say knock on wood- never had any problems with all the snow and ice storms we get to have our basement flood. I have a friend who has one. I'm not sure the type or how it knows to work. She had a basement flood and lost a lot about 2 years ago. It was a well problem.

I don't live in a flood zone and we don't even have a basement. But, if I did I sure would want a reliable sump pump.
