Heating costs are going nowhere but up...what are some cost effective means of saving money weatherizing? Some put plastic over the windows or use 'heatgrabbers'. Weatherizing around doors and windows, closing off unused rooms and hallways work well. What things do you do that others might overlook. We have a bay window in the kitchen - last year got a blanket from Dollar General and pinned it around the window - it fit perfectly and reduced heat loss through the windows.

When I go to bed at night, I lower the heat in the room. The only place where I keep the heat up is the bathroom. I hate cold bathrooms.
