There are several ways to do a colon cleanse.  Orally, juices are easy to make, take minimal time and have good results over time.  A fasting acting method is an enema.  The key points to maintaining a healthy digestive system is to drink ample amounts of water and lots of water. This stimulates peristalses.  Flaxseed is an excellent source of fiber, however; if you have diverticulitis, you should avoid this.

JUICES
For colon tissue repair, vegetables can’t be beat.  The following recipe is calming, healing, cleansing and nourishing.

6 oz Celery juice
1 oz Wheatgrass Juice
1 oz Spinach juice
1 oz Cabbage juice
1 oz Parsley or Alfalfa Sprouts

For an overall colon cleanse, this recipe should do the trick:

2 Tbsp Flaxseed
½ Banana
½ Papaya (ripe)
2 Tbsp  Wheat or Barley Grass Powder
2 Tbsp Acidophilus (can be found in pharmacies or health food stores – keep in refrigerator after opening)
1-2 CupsPure Water

TEA
Warm teas increase circulation to the digestive tract, thereby relieving gas and cramping, and promoting healing.
¼ inch  Ginger Root (grated)

1 tsp Honey
1 tsp Chamomile
1 tsp Peppermint

* Steep for about 15 minutes in 1 -1 ½ cups of water
