Ground beef is easy to use a lot of ways to stretch the budget - pasta dishes etc without necessarily being the main course. How about your favorite ways to use ground beef?

One easy one - mix up corn bread mix while a pound of burger is browning. Pour cornbread into pan as normal, top with sliced or shredded cheese, salsa, bits of leftovers etc then the browned beef with BBQ sauce, chili or taco seasonings or whatever you please mixed in. Bake as normal for corn bread. Great way to use leftovers and it's good in lunches too.

This is a Cuban dish called arroz a la cubana: Brown and sautee beef with diced onions and garlic. Then when totally brown, add ketchup or tomato sauce (it's up to you). When fully coated, the beef should look reddish. Add peas and carrots (from the can if you wish), diced potatoes, raisins. Salt and pepper to taste. While the beef is cooking, peel some plaintains, slice them lengthwise and then fry until golden brown. Serve with: rice and fried egg. Let the fried egg sit on the rice, the beef on the side and the plaintains on the other side of the plate. Delish!
