You can never go wrong with diamonds… they are a girls best friend.

Take here on a trip, its much better than another trinket in the jewelry box.

I'd get her a personal digital assistant.  Or a google phone which is coming out in October in Canada (not sure of exact launch date).  It has a camera, web surfing, email, music, and I think a GPS!

Some women though are not into gadgets.  So if she loves to cook, why not get her a set of Langostina cookware?

The last thing a woman wants is a cook book! If I got my wife a cook book for our anniversary I would be eating alone that night From what I have learned over the years is never buy them a practical gift.

I am sticking to my advice, book a trip for you and your spouse.

Babs said cookware, not cookbooks.  I'm sure she has to cook some days in the week, so why not get her an expensive set of cookware?  Say goodbye to those pots and pans at the dollar store - the kind where the handles break and the teflon peels off after the 2nd washing

Traditional gift for a 3rd wedding anniversay is leather(let your mind wonder here). Modern or contemperary gift is either crystal or glass. Yup  can't go wrong with some type of jewelry.

How about a his and hers spa package -- in Hawaii of course!

I would suggest you to make a simple yet a surprising present to her. It doesn't depend on how costly your present should be, but it depends on how it impresses her.

Good observation here Willy. Unless you have talked about it and you are 100% sure that your wife is okay with housekeeping items for gifts, DON'T buy them. Most women I know say that it makes them feel like a housemaid, not the love of your life.

What I always want is to go out to dinner or maybe even to stay in and have grandma take the kids for the night.   Nothing extravagant for me

Congratulations on 3 years!!

There are lots of great ideas here already. I alwya like to go out for dinner, somewhere a little special, but a weekend away togehter sounds great. I suppose it also depends how how your finances are shaping up. You could just have a quiet night in, cook her dinner etc, or get some outside caterers in to prepare and serve you your romantic dinner in your own home.

The best gifts come from the heart. I think something homemade would be a great gift. If you're not into making things arrange for an overnight sitter and book a hotel room. Spice it up with some wine, roses, and have a fun night together.

Or....

Give her the money that you would have spent on the diamond, and tell her to choose an investment.

A woman can never have enough financial power.

How about two dozens roses? I am sure every single wife out there will be very happy to see those red roses in their wedding anniversary day. Flowers can do wonder to a woman's heart!
