Heart rate of the baby

Our friend is pregnant and is in her third term. Thus far the heart rate of the baby has been around 155 to 160, does this mean she is having a girl

I heard that heart rates below 140 mean its a boy, above that its a girl.  Is there any truth to this... or is it just a myth

I would not put to much faith in the ‘heart rate’ myth. When we had our daughter her heart rate was around 150 the whole term. When we had our son, his heart rate was the same as our daughters.

Note: There is an article on this site titled the "Old Wives Tales for Telling a Baby's Gender" at:  that y ou might find interesting.

Here is a picture of our son  that we had last week

This the first time I hear of predicting gender through the heart rate.  Will read that article for sure!

Cute Owen.  Lovely picture.  He looks like he can't tolerate the noise around him.  He'd rather be left alone!

I don't believe in that.  I have been working in a maternity hospital for quite a while now yet I haven't heard of anything like that before.
