I was wondering how many hours you sleep every night? I usually sleep around 5 hours a night, on average. On weekends, I usually sleep in a little to make up for lost sleep. How about you?

I sleep five to six hours a night. It's not enough, but it's all I have time for with a preschooler, a full-time job, some part-time work and a house to run!

If I feel myself really dragging or coming down with an illness, I do make sure I get more sleep, though. Generally in order to do that, I have to let the housework slide...

Same as you Florentin - about 5 hours on average.  What happens is I go to bed at about 11 pm, then somehow wake up at about 2:40 am and can't get back to sleep until 4 or 5 am.  That's when I do my catch-up sleep - at about 5 am and then I have to get up about 8:30 am.

I generally get 5 hours and one bathroom break. I remember the show Everybody loves Raymond when the older father said he had been up for "first pee."

I usually sleep about 6 to 8 hours a day. However on weekends I sleep about 10 hours. If I am going to sleep less than those hours I will be sleepy at work.

I sleep around 6-8 hours every night.  Sometimes if I have so many things to do and to catch up, then I can only sleep for like 4 hours.

I sleep about 8-9 hours but I have an illness that requires a lot of sleep. On the weekends I sleep as much as 12 hours if the kids cooperate with my husband.

I sleep four hours on the average. My target is six straight hours.  The four hours I have are usually broken into 2 or 3.

The health concept is that we shouldn't deplete our sleep bank.  We should aim for at least 6-8 hours of sleep a day.  I've heard of stories of sleep-deprived people and the consequences on their health.  It won't be felt or seen right away, it's more like a long term thing.
