President George W Bush has called on worried Americans to trust in the government's series of interventions to fight the crisis in the banking system.Mr Bush defended his decisions saying credit markets took "a while to freeze up" and would take a while to "thaw".

Yes, his assurance to Americans was most welcome.  It will take awhile to heal the wound, but because it's such a deep wound, the treatment will take longer.  I sure hope the economy bounces back; all global markets are affected.

It is expected that the economy will bounce back after 3 years. Looks like a lot of efforts are needed to change the situation on the ground.

Wow, three years for the economy to recover seems like a long time to me. I sure hope it doesn't take that long.

Actually it will take three or more years to bounce back to the normal position. It is because the markets are heavily damaged coupled with slowing growth rate.
